The lovely Rene is coming for a visit - I don't think I ever laugh so much as when she is around. Looking forward to hanging out.

And it's Robbie's 30th tomorrow. I've baked a cake, although it fell a bit flat. Put up banners and balloons. Bought him a flying lesson for his main pressie.

We've got vague plans to see 2012, catch a band and havve dinner at a Meadery. And Emma might join us for quiz and karaoke on Sunday.

Hurray! Living for the weekend...

Glad this week is over. Work has been boring and lacking, and I think in turn this has made me knackered.

Looking forward to London on Sunday. Drinks and food with friends, followed by FATM.

change of life

Watching Have I got News for You with Grayson Perry the other night caused me to reflect on my life and how art and the Turner Prize used to be very important in my life - and now I'm happy digging holes in my garden. Still, all the spring bulbs have been planted and I am looking forward to a rich tapestry of colour in my flowerbeds.

So, last night was hosted by Emma, who made a lovely salmon & lime couscous dish. Pavolva for pudding and Rock Band for afters. Much fun.

I am sad. There's not enough work to do at work. It's so frustrating.

not Whitby-shaped though, (sorry Brigid). Have booked the train to London on Sunday Nov 1st, arrving at 2.3pm; and leaving again on Monday at 2.05pm. So just a fleeting visit.

Dinner somewhere, before the gig?

Oh, I just don't know! Coming to London to go to the FATM gig on Sunday 1st November, but probably still won't have finished my essay (due on the 6th) so probably shouldn't go up on Saturday to have extra time there with chums...

Not going to Whitby?

So who else isn't going to Whitby?

And who out of you, might be going to Faith & The Muse at Dingwalls?

Thankyou.

Since Geocities has closed down, I am trying to establish a Lycos Tripod website, but all it does it show that the page is loading.

Maybe my poor G3 iBook on 10.3.9 isn't strong enough?

I tried using Camino as a browser but that didn't help.

wedding drinks and dinner

We've got our ceremony booked for 3.30pm, and dinner for 6.30-7pm (can't quite remember what time). Been thinking about cocktails and canapes for inbetween. Our first choice for this was going to cost £400 - just for champers and canapes! We have another choice now for £150. That's one bottle of fizz per four people. I'm just thinking... do we really need to book somewhere? I'm so cheap! Not everyone will drink bubbles, or eat the canapes. Would we just be better off getting a couple of rounds in?!

Oh me! Robbie's folks came over on Saturday. He did some bricking up of walls with his Papa, and his mum and I started with pruning the rose bush, and finished by digging up the entire top garden.

A beautiful weekend for diggin in the garden though.

Emma & co came round in the evening as we had plans to see the Mosquitoes at Tyack's but it was cancelled. Bah! A few drinks in town instead then.

Too much Bailey's, resulted in a poorly me on Sunday morning. Robbie had a show rehearsal on the afternoon, and I managed to do some more digging.

College tonight. Robbie's at a show. We are both worn out.

Really want to go to Rammstein but midweek isn't handy.

Going to bed with red wine and Lindt chocolates now.

Anyone for pricket?

One of our customers gave me a side of pricket.  I thought I really liked venison. I did steak tonight.  Maybe I can't cook it properly.  I think sausages or burgers might be the next effort.

Any recommendations?

I've seen the dress I think I want. It's in a shop near Chester. That's a bloody long way to go. Over six hours driving and about a hundred quid's worth of petrol. Anybody live near Chester, that I might come and visit?

Driving from Helston to Camborne on this beautifully sunny morning, I was forced to stop in the hamlet of Wendron, by an old stone pub as a herd of cattle was driven by. Much mooing; full milky udders swaying and little calves catching up the rear. A welcome disruption to my journey.

Other than that... had birthday dinner for Nan and card games on Friday. Dug big holes in the garden on Saturday. Then a glamorous burlesque evening in Helston. Dug more holes on Sunday. Barbecue dinner. Quiz. And home.

Knackered.

Starting work early tomorrow, so I can get to college on time and then home at about 9.10pm. Not looking forward to it.

Goodnight all.

Another successful day.

Woke up, went and got lunch.

Agreed wedding ceremony option for 3.30pm on 14th July.

Emma came round to take some photos of us to use as studies for a sketch she will do as a wedding fit for us.

Then she tried on her bridesmaid's dress which looks fab. (Rather excited to go and get shoes - NOW!)

Went and looked at a new car for Emma that her husband had spotted for £495 - except upon closer inspection it's £1495. Fail.

Planned London hen night for June 19th: cocks invited too. Cornish hen for July 3rd: Londoners also invited.

Lunch.

Went to a kilt fitters and got Robbie kitted out for next summer, only 60 quid and very handsome.

Spot of DIY.

Made lasagne and spent the evening chatting with Mam.

Very chuffed that today has been fab and dry and sunny as this weekend, next year, we shall be having our wedding party in Cornwall.

Woohoo!

Today in Cornwall, it's a gorgeous sunny day, maybe with an autumnal chill on the strong breeze - but I hold this as a good omen for the same date next year when we have our wedding party. Woohoo!

Finally caught up with Ax yesterday (*waves*). He/his parents live right next to where I work - it's a wacky world.

Good to catch up and very entertained to meet River.

Tonight Emma & I are hooking up with Fran and Tracy. Yay!
